EDITORIAL SERVICES

Michael's available for a wide variety of freelance editorial work, from one-off projects to long-form work overseeing production and development on single issue comics, webcomics, and graphic novels.

PITCH AND/OR QUERY EVALUATION

Michael has experience reviewing pitch packets for both direct market and book market publishers and for potential agents, especially as someone who works on the other side of the acquisitions process. He can walk you through what to include in a pitch packet, review the materials, and strategize how to position your work to potential agents and publishing houses.

  • Rate: $250 Flat Fee, which includes:

    • A review of the pitch materials

    • An initial email of thoughts, questions, and feedback

    • One (1) hour consult via phone or video chat to discuss said feedback and game plan your next steps

SCRIPT EVALUATION

Michael has reviewed many scripts, from single issues to graphic novels and has extensive experience in substantive editing that ensures your story hits your thematic beats as strongly as possible and sets up your artist for success.

  • 22-page Single Issue Comic Script Rate: $250 Flat Fee, which includes:

    • A review of the script

    • An initial email of thoughts, questions, and feedback

    • One half hour (1/2) consult via phone or video chat to discuss said feedback and game plan your next steps

  • Graphic Novel Script Rate: $300+ Flat Fee, depending on length, which includes:

    • A review of the script

    • An initial email of thoughts, questions, and feedback

    • One hour (1) consult via phone or video chat to discuss said feedback and game plan your next steps

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND PRODUCTION

Michael has ushered 100+ single issues and graphic novels from initial idea to finished product, and he can do that for you, too! He can assist you in hiring creative collaborators for your projects, setting schedules for each creator involved, and provide feedback every step of the way from script to art.

  • 22-page Single Issue Comic Editor Rate: $800 Flat Fee per issue, which includes:

    • Full management of the process, from initial idea to final art, including colors and letters

    • Michael will collaborate with the team to set schedules for each team member and project manage the comic to completion, providing feedback at every stage

  • Graphic Novel Editor Rate: $35/pg Flat Fee, which includes:

    • Full management of the process, from initial idea to final art, including colors and letters

    • Michael will collaborate with the team to set schedules for each team member and project manage the comic to completion, providing feedback at every stage

  • Webcomic Editor Rate: $35/pg Flat Fee or $200/episode Flat Fee for Tapas/Webtoon, which includes:

    • Full management of the process, from initial idea to final art, including colors and letters
